Icons that define technology
E-commerce has surged from zero to over 25 million websites since the early 1990s, fueled by companies recognizing the boundless potential to reach global markets. Now, as AI technology ascends, we witness the dawn of a new era where customer inquiries are efficiently addressed by AI-powered systems. Notably, akin to the ubiquitous Buy button, the AI icon encapsulates this transformative capability into a single symbol. This convergence of technology not only streamlines online interactions but also signifies a shift towards leveraging intelligent systems to enhance user experiences. In essence, the AI icon emerges as the contemporary equivalent of the Buy button, embodying the seamless integration of AI-driven assistance.
From 0 to 26 million
When Amazon started in 1995 there were very few e-commerce sites. It was a pioneer in online shopping. It took two-and-a-half decades to reach 10 million e-commerce sites. And in the past four years, it has already more than doubled to more than 26 million e-commerce sites. Why? The pandemic changed behaviors.
AI will experience this same shift. Behaviors are changing. It is becoming normal to interact with an AI. It saves companies money. It saves companies time. It provides faster answers to users. It will not take 30 years to get to 26 million web sites with AI icons. It will happen faster than e-commerce.
